Notes

Earthy and raw. At times unexpected, other times familiar, and often both at the same time. Many instruments I recognize, like vibraphone, marimba, horns, and piano; others I don't and warrant investigation. Some moments, like "Nètsanèt," remind me very much of Medeski Martin & Wood. "Motherland" and "Mulatu" stick out in an album of standouts. The entire record is worth picking apart.
